Payton Godsey, a senior at Oaks Christian School in California, took third in the Bill Buettner girls championship race at the 44th ASICS Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. Godsey, the reigning Division 4 state champion, covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:05.5 for the Lions, who placed 14th as a team overall with 341 points.
